How about starting with more details. Popping out at the T-case? YJ, TJ?

Pads worn out or missing from shift fork
Detent ball or spring worn
Shift boot stiff from cold

could it be that the t-case shifter is out of adjustment so it is in the verge of being in and pops out when you hit a bump (this would be for 4lo.. not hi)

did you mean it's making a popping sound or it is actually popping out of 4wd?

Have a body lift, motor lift or Transfer case drop?

It could just mean the cover plate needs adjustment or maybe even the shifter linkage itself.

its actually popping out of gear

which gear? if it's [1st, 3rd and 5th] or [2nd and 4th] you might have some clearance issues between the body and the shift lever.

If it was just popping previously, it's likely the transfer case chain is stretched and slipping on the sprockets.  The transfer case popping out of gear is a slighlty different issue and in your case is likely due to worn internal parts.  It's time for a transfer case rebuild or replacement.

There's a slight chance that adjusting the transfer case linkage will help but I doubt it.

I've cured this a couple times on my YJ by loosening
the two bolts in the skid-plate slots, and using a pry
bar to slide the engine and trans forward about 3/8"
till the rubber mounts are centered in the motor-mount
hoops. Then re-tighten. I had to do this after hard
hits to the rear offroad. It causes the boot to push
the lever when the trans torques around.
