Fabtech YJ Coil Conversion

Looks pretty good.  Coils up front and SOA out back.  Reminds me of the 4Play Offroad Coil Conversion from years ago.

This kit looks like the answer to my question on another topic about using coils in the front and leaf springs in the back. Where can I get more info? I tried to find a link to fabtech but didnt have any luck.

Call Fabtech.  Although I doubt it will be cheap.  I suspect $3-4K.

The only problem I see is good luck trying to change your gear oil, You'd have to take apart half the front end to be able to take the cover off.  Although they probably say to syphon it out of the fill plug.

Would have been more complimentary to utilize 1/4 Eliptical for added flex in the rear than a very nice looking boomerang, the boomerang gives me a good idea for my new rear ones that i'll be building...

I bet that thing sees a lot of trail use as well, 35" krawlers with a stock D35... Tisk tisk!!

Somone at our Jeep jam 2005 ran the D35 with 35" krawlers and he blew a c'clip.. go figure... but he had it up and runnin again for day two so props to him.

I don't think that's a problem.  Honestly, a SOA in the rear is good enough.  The rear springs look aftermarket to match the front better.  The front's look double wrapped.

As for 35's on it, I'm sure these were done to build the kit.  Most people will have the D35c so it makes sense to use that as the base kit.  Then adapt it to work with 44's later.  You have to think factory R&D not one off trail rig.

Black Diamond / Superlift is working on an X2 lift. Same setup. I think both companies are also looking to do similar setups on the TJ.

There was a write up on the x2 over at rockcrawler.com

Well Black Diamond has been sitting on what Warn made since being sold to Superlift's parent company.  They had a bunch of stuff in developmention when that took place.  YJ and CJ SOA was one of the big things.

My guess is that they recovered what they could from that and combined it with a simplier designed XCL.

Personally, I like the beafyness of the Fabtech.  Not to mention the radius arms are on the fame and not the skid.  If you ever have to drop the skid on the XCL and many TJ Long arms, the whole suspension has to come down.  A real PITA.
