finally the time to move over to a new suspension has come. i plan on ditching my 2,5 pro comp setup for a 4" setup. i would apreciate your opinions on this: WITCH KIT! what i'm looking for is the sweetest and more comfy ride (as the Jeep is a daily driver) along with off road performance. so, i'm looking on the skyjacker SOFTRIDE 4" and the rubicon 4". what do you suggest?

1 or 2 inch body lift would save $$$$, but if youve got it, id go with the skyjacker.

If you want to do it right the first time then go with a Rubicon Express XD 4.5" kit.  It costs more but you also get more.  Otherwise, you could probably do a custom lift kit from someoen like Alcan.  Last time I looked they wanted $150 a leaf for 1-6".  You would need to gather up all the small parts though.  You might also be looking at getting a SYE with a 4" lift.  You could run a T-case spacer but to do it right you'd want a SYE.

Here's the thing though.  Are you running front and rear trackbars on your current lift?  If you are, you could remove those and it will ride better.  Loosening up the shackles and using locknuts will allow you to feee up the suspension a bit more.

Skyjacker makes soft leafs but they tend to sag and bend prematurely.  A friend of mine had the 4" but after a few years it was maybe 2.5"  The Rubicon Express 'Standard' lift are the exact same leafs that Pro-Comp sells.  They both buy them from the same supplier.

Another option would be to go SOA, if you had your stock leafs.  Ride quality is pretty soft but you're looking at 5.5" of lift.  You'd definatly want 33" tires minimum.

i allready run a 2" bodylift and 33's. fender contact allaround. so, first comes the SYE. i want to get the JB conversions super short sye, because it allowes for a 2,25" longer drive shaft. NO rear trackbar, you suggest removing the front as well? so, as i understand there is an actual difference between the 4" and 4,5" rubi springs? i thought the diference had to do with shackles. if there is a diference, the 4.5" ones will be stiffer?

The standard 4" and the Extreme duty 4.5" aren't the same leafs.  Like I said, the Standards are off the shelf leafs from the same supplier as Pro-Comp.  The 2.5" Standard and the 4" standard are the same as the Pro-Comp 2.5" and 4".  SO unless you want no change int ride from your existing Pro-Comps you would be wasting money on the Rubicon Express Standards.

The 4.5" used much better leafs.  They used to be from National Springs but that changed.  I'm not sure where they get them from now but they are probably the best off the shelf leafs you can get.  The 2.5" was designed to go up against OME's 2.5" kit which for a long time was the best, but only came in 2.5".  The shackles will give you a bit more clearance and an extra 3/8" of lift.  This is why the kit is 4.5" lift.

I agree wholeheartedly, the 4.5 springs I've got are awesome.  Only better are specially built (like from Alcan)...

I third or fourth the RE4.5XD kit,

Although... i only flexed 600 on a 20 degree ramp with the RE springs, maybe with better shock position, better bushings and greasable shackeles.... that come with the KIT, it would flex better.... but then again i have no lockers... and ramp scores are a lot better with lockers....

I find it rides softer that stock, but thats only when i have the spare tire mounted out back it seems to be softer with more weight...
