I get this email from Quadratec showing "3 stages of Jeep buildup."

(Had a link, but it didn't work; if you ever ordered anything from Quadratec, you've probably received the same email)

Their "third stage" is a 36"-tired TJ monster involving about $50,000 worth of parts and shop labor to put together, not including the time your are going to spend tuning and testing and working out any kinks in the upgrades.  Then you have normal wear and tear to consider. And, don't forget the auto insurance to cover all of those valuable upgrades (big money).  And, they are doing the build-up on a 97 Wrangler 4.0, which, back in the day, I recall as having all sorts of problems and recalls (which didn't seem to thin out until the 00's models); heck you could practically buy a low-mileage H1 for that kind of money or save some cash and do a near-factory quality AEV Hemi or Brute conversion or supercharged Rubicon on big tires.

Quadratec is a drug dealer; they deal "Jeep Upgrades"

For $50K, I think I could build a new Jeep (any Jeep).  For only $10K, you can get a match pair of HP D60's with ARB's.  Another 5K and you could make a bulletproof drivetrain sans engine.  $2K on suspension and $1K for wheels and tires.  What am I at now?.... $18K.

I agree that Quadratec has a lot of expensive stuff.  Some if it's good for the regular person while other stuff is outragous.  I'm still amazed that people are charging over $400 for bumpers, skids and fenders.

Did you mean 'and', or should it have been 'or'?

ARB's bumper is...   Well...  ALOT.   Smittybilt, Poison Spyder (among others) sell those steel flat fenders for...   Well alot also...   Rockers, or skids??   Look at AEV, or 4X Doctor, or even Warn (if they still do theirs')  Those cost alot too...

Now 50K for a totally built rig?  Wouldn't it be better to buy a JeeP Rubicon, and get a full warranty?  Or, like chrisfranklin said,  a H1!  That's crazy!!

and/or whatever it's still a lot.

Personally, if I had that much cash to spend, I'd build my own rather then buy a Rubicon.  I'd go FF D44's, NV3550, Klune 2.72 & Atlas 5.0, 5.38's, ARB's or something manual. Rocker guards, corners, 6pt cage...  You could even have a custom paint job with what's left.

You'd have enough to throw in a Vortec V6 or an LS1!!
