Have had a little irregularity with my clutch that's been going on for the last couple of years. I will start the Jeep and the clutch pedal will go to the floor without much resistance and my shifter will not go in to gear. I pop the hood, unscrew the lid on the clutch cylinder and see that there is a fluid drop; I top of the clutch resevoir with some brake fluid I keep. Gradually, hydraulic pressure returns and Jeep is drivable again. However, doing this refill business seems to occurr once a month or so; and, I never see any leak of fluid.
The consistent decline of fluid in the Clutch cylinder seems suggestive of some kind of a very small, slow leak somewhere in the hydraulic system. Haven't had clutch problems in other vehicles, so this is new to me. Any ideas? Thanks.
