Gear installation

Got some 4.88 gears for my D35. Saw them on CL for 75$ and figured it was a good deal so I grabbed them. I was wondering how difficult it is to install them myself as I've never done it before.  Thanks.

yukon has a good install guide, most challenging part is to set the pinion depth. The FSM is also good on R&P install.

A hydraulic press and/or a bearing puller would be extremely helpful.  Not to mention an in-lbs dial torque wrench.  You can do it without a dial gauge but it's always good to check the backlash.

Make sure you get a spare crush sleeve.  They are a PITA to set and if you screw up, you'll have to get a new one.

Hmmm, sounds like something that can be screwed up pretty easily if you don't have the know-how or proper tools which I don't. I might just get a mechanic to do it. I got a quote from a guy for 300. Is that reasonable?

$300 for both would be a pretty good deal.

OK. I actually haven't picked the gears up yet so maybe I'll just wait until I have enough for whole new front and rear with lockers. I'm not sure if i want to drop that much money on a D30 and 35. Thanks for he input.
