Anyone have a measurement of the weight of the 2.5l? and trans (auto/manual)?
The FAQ only has info on the hp (105-125 hp @ 4,000- 5,400 rpm) and torque numbers (125-150 lb- ft @ 2,600- 3,200 rpm).
Recently, my TJ with a winch, 1/4 tank, 34" LTBs and a 60# dog weighed in at 3540#s. That's awfully heavy for the little 120hp (when brand new) engine. The power to weight ratio is really low.
I'm weighing options of other drivelines which have 120hp-150hp but are maybe 100-200#'s lighter in weight.
Where is the weight of a TJ anyways? Is it in the frame? Axle housings are quite light. The aluminum t-case is light. Could it be in the 4 cyl engine/trans? Maybe the airbags....lol?
In comparison, anyone weigh a YJ to come near its stock advertised weight?
