97 TJ
« on: February 07, 2011, 11:29:17 AM »
I bought the Jeep site unseen for $1500 off craigslist with the idea of cutting it up. High line tube finder in the front and comp cut the back and to put 60s front and rear a stretch it to 103"

But after the guy sent me pics of it I just couldn't bring myself to cut it up. It was suppose to have a bad motor it just had a water pump that froze up and blown apart. Than I just fell into things like a motor that had been sitting in a someone's project for about 13 years, it came out of a wrecked 97 TJ that never made it to the first oil change for $400 bucks it came with everything including the wire harness.Than I got a HP30 for $75. and a 8.8 for $200, I traded a 34 year old 8274 for a brand new in the box 9000 Ti. I now have about $6400 in it with basically all new running gear except the tranny.

Now I drive this jeep more than my other two, even though I hate the color. Pics of the day I got it home.

Jeep looks great.  I wouldn't even care about the paint, especially for that price.  You don't see too many lifted Jeeps that color anyway.

A black top may look good but a black top also gets hot quickly.

i don't mind the look of the tan top since the interior is the same color, if it was charcoal or gray would be different story.

goes well with the baby blue theme also  :stick:

Jeep used to mix and match a lot.  My Jeep had a charcoal dash with spice door panels and seats.  The carpet was also charcoal.  Especially with the S models, they just threw together whatever they had it seems.

I'm kinda liking those mud flaps.
