I'm not a fan of the whole hack and slash flat fender look.  Problem with cutting up the stock fenders is that you sacrafice any structural iintegrity they may have.  Cut them too much and they will look wavy even though they haven't hit anything.  The worst ones are the ones where the person removes the front part of the fender and leaves the support bar there.  (not sure if this is doable on a TJ.)  So you get this ugly seem that is not exposed and looks like something fell off because it did.  I have seen some nicely trimmed stock fenders though.  They leave enough for the fender to still hold weight but remove enough to clear tall tires.

With that said, I do however like the tube fenders.  Problem is they are $$$.  The Smittybilt ones are nice since they have an inner fender but have that tacky light tab.  Yeah, it's a legal issue but they could have moved it.  I think it would look a lot better putting a 2" round turn signal behind the wheel opening. (a'la most other countries but the US.)  Poison spyder makes some nice fenders but if you want the inner skin you need to hack your fenders up.  They do have one neat feature with the 3" flare.  Although I wish they just made the flare 3" wider and not have that stagger at the leading edge of the fender.  There are some people making their own.  I know of one guy who makes some really nice ones for around $350.

That is just as impressive, especially the way the front bar ties in (I saw you doing that in another topic, a while back)

I kinda agree with Jeffy...  Trying to avoid that cutting and destroying...

I'm running an ARB Bull Bar, so I wouldn't want to cut the fenders.  I've got that Bull Bar to protect the fenders, even tho it's way to wide.

Eventually, I would like to trim those wings back...  With 35's, I'm totally rubbing, well hitting on them.

But I am impressed with those pics...  Thanks guys!
