running problem
« on: May 26, 2011, 04:04:47 PM »
hi folks, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on a problem of mine,

i've looked through the boards but cant find anyone with the same problem as me.

I have a 1989 wrangler with 2.5 tbi,

it starts fine cold, idles ok and drives for about 5 minutes, till the temp gets about !/4 of the way up,

then it starts cutting out, dropping rpm's then stalling and a flat spot a mile wide.

if you can nurse it through this for 3 to for minutes it just clears, and when up to temp runs perfect no stalling or any other issues,

has anybody got any ideas???

thanks in advance Jason.

ECM temp sensor maybe? unless it's some fuel delivery issue. This is in case your problems are not just at idle but loss of power when driving as well.
