my suggetion if i understand correctly what the issue is (the pressed sleeve in the alternator bracket): you can use a long bolt with a socket at the other end and a washer+nut to pull it out a bit.
Could use the bolt/nut that holds the alternator to the bracket, reverse it and use a socket on it.
The other day, I flipped through some Haynes (?) Jeep repair guide I had and the darn thing didn't clue me in about this potential step when changing the alternator.
