Pacesetter Headers

  The flange for the cross over Pipe.  There a trick to getting that together.  Them bolts seem like they are about a 1/4" to short.  Cannot even get it together while off the the jeep with clamps on it pulling it together. :brick: :brick: :brick:

You bolt the cat to the flange before attaching the muffler and other pipe.

Not that one but at the header the spring loaded bolts.  Cat will be easy once those two bolts are on.

i managed to get the bolts on but it took a lot of efforts, i used some clamps to hold it together. I had it bolted on first without the springs and tighten it pretty good, that made the flange fit on itself so the bolts were long enough after that.
oh, and i put the springs on the bolt side, then put the bolt thru the hole and press the spring down with a clamp.

i dunno about the stock one but there's no way you get the pacesetter header to downpipe bolts with the springs on if the cat is bolted/mounted on it before hand

Took the springs off and added a spacer then Hammered them down with an Impact.  Took it back apart and still with one just started I cannot compress the springs enough to get the second Bolt in they must have sent me bolts that are too short.

  Heading out to the store now to get longer bolts.

I don't think you really need the springs.  There just there so you keep the place centered.  Most mfg.s don't use the spring.

I already got the Bolts Have a hardware store close by.

  But now the Big problem is my football team is now playing so I will not get to it till tommorrow. :slapfight:

Got it together But now only have the intake to put on.  Those middle two Bolts will be a real pain  and wanted to work on that part when My head is a little more clear and it's cooler in the Morning.

When I used the springs on the header on my TJ the bolts always seemed to back off.   So I removed the springs and Zipped on the bolts with an impact gun , Then added a 2nd nut to lock it into place . I never had an issue after that .

I changed over the lock nuts to ones I used building Chippers and grinders.  Never had them back off on them.  Do Know never use Nylocks and never use lock washers  on exhaust systems had them back off several times.

Those bolts on my Pacesetter were a b****h, too...  Used c-clamps to get em snugged.  Took a while and a lot of curse words.  And they would back off.   Funny thing...  Now the springs aren't even on it anymore.  They're really not necessary...   :beers:

That styleof flange is supposed to allow twist and prevent stress on the header.
DOnt know how effective it is in real life... :)
