Topic: What random things can be swapped into a Jeep Wrangler

I was wanting to compile a list of random junk that can be taken from other vehicles and installed into a wrangler with little or no modification and was hoping that others could add as much as possible because my knowledge is limited to a handful of things.

I know the electric fan from a 90-95 ford Taurus 3.8 works pretty well. fits up with very little modification. Should but not positive be the same for a 90-95 3.8 Mercury Sable. It will give a very slight performance upgrade given the motor is no longer carrying the fan.

With that link though I am not sure on which will work for a yj a tj or what. I was just going to go and wing it once I get a day.

I know the 4.0 throttle body works very well from Jeep Cherokee's and such

 - WJ front bearings (hub & bearing assembly) if you want to change the bolt pattern to 5x5.5
 - ZJ  stock pitman arm for a drop pitman arm on TJ/YJ, XJ stock pitman arm for less drop (a bit more than stock YJ/TJ)
 - Durango steering box
 - Explorer SportTrac front rotors if you use WJ knuckles and want to keep 5x4.5 bolt pattern (WJ knuckles require a few mods that's why i didn't list them since you said little or no mods).
 - ZJ rear disk brakes (whole assembly) for D35 on YJ/TJ (e-brake cables i think work on TJ, for YJ you need custom ones, i bought them from q-tec for this conversion), proportioning valve is also needed.
 - Dakota 2.5L bellhousing & 4 cyl Camaro clutch disk for installing AX15 or NV3550 on 2.5L YJ/TJ to replace the weak AX5 (you need and Advance Adapters oilite pilot bearing to go along with it)
 - late TJ hinges on YJ (the big ones to make it worthwhile, i think early TJs had smaller hinges)
 - TJ fender flares on YJ (to allow for more cutout in the fender opening), very common mod

would the 91-95 YJ fit? i have no issues with mine (it's a '95) and it's got quite a bit of flow

From what the different sites and forums say online the 95 yj will not. I looked up the part number for the 87-90 and it looks like they are one part number and the 91-95 is another. If you try it anyways let us know what happened.

mine is a '95 like i said, i have no issues with it (pretty good airflow), so for me there's no reason to try the swap - i was just wondering if the older ones can be upgraded with the newer YJ blower fan. Good to know for the 90 and older guys though that there's an upgrade available.

i didn't do it but from what i remember (some member here did it but can't recall who, might come up in a search) was that it's beefier and the steering wheel turns were compared to the stock one. And of course potentially a steering box with less miles on it.

The durango box has a faster ratio.  It's beefy, but it only has three mounting holes (vs. four on your stock box).  It's an upgrade of limited benefit.
