why not calling the cops on him? that's the part i am kinda' puzzled by to be honest, seems to have done the same to others (guy with the tires).

neither is anyone else, besides if you beat him up you end up in jail so what's the point (he'll be roaming free and enjoying whatever the court would award him as a compensation)

so imo get his ass in jail and be done with it, if he does it again then he'll be in there some extra time, at least he'll be off the trail for a while.

I didnt think anyone was actually going to beat him. It's funny reading the posts though, ppl suggested dragging him by a truck or beating him to death. Now, why they didnt call the cops, I get the feeling this is a small community and things are handled on a smaller scale. Perhaps the fact that every single person in your community knows you're a thief causes enough discomfort. I would have liked for him to have been jailed though.

Pollack Pines is a real small community.  You're talking about 6 sq. miles with maybe 7K people.  it's right next to Placerville.
