so are the handles not working or the latch (to unlock)? like i said if the latter you might try to pick it with a bent steel rod or call triple-A (usually takes them 2 min to unlock). might save you a lot of work.

seat can be taken out like Jeffy said

1st I changed the Bolts and need to reach both top and bottom to get the seat out only way to do that is with the door open.

But I did get it. The lock was not fully releasing.  So I opened a slider reached in and worked both inside and key lock at the same time.  The door opened.  Thought I had already tried that but guess not.

Its all cleaned up and lubed again working like new.

Last time I tried to fold the windshield for some reason I did not get it to go.  Need to cause I think the seal is leaking.

That can really open up a can of worms.

Tell me about it; I folded the windshield and ended up having to buy the seal again!

I remember

http://4bangerjp.com/forums/index.php/topic,2783.0.html
Well, that's if you can get the windshield down at all.  The hinges were painted with them mounted so the backside was never painted.  I've heard of more then one case where the hinge locked up completely.  The leaking and the rust are another issue all together.

That reminds me that I never reposted the project I did when I replaced the instrument panel.  That was a bit of a mess as well.

Just out of curiosity, is there ANY part on the Jeep that you have not yet torn apart and re-installed/fixed/upgraded?

I literally rebuilt mine.  Unstitched, replaced the boards and hand stitched it back up.  I removed the edging to make them look a bit more modern.

I was fed up with the visors not rotating as they should.  You usually end up breaking the back of the cardboard inside which then ruins them.

If it happens again, it has worked for me several times to try and open the door and smack the door with my hand near the latch. I need to lube my stuff up. Just got my jeep back out of my shop after it sitting for 2 years and this was the first thing I had to do!
