Topic: Photo Contest

Last week, I decided to take a plunge and sign up for my first photo contest.  The contest is the 36th Annual Photo Contest at a local social club.  Categories were: Panama, Faces, Effects, Nature and Open.  I entered 10 photos overall; 3 into Faces, 3 into Nature, 3 into Open and 1 into Effect.  There are also two groups; those that have won awards in the past, and newcomers.  Out of the newcomers, I got 4 awards, bringing in Honorary Mention, 3rd place, 2nd place and 1st place in the Open category (for some reason, all my photos ended up here, as the photos that won I had entered as one face, one special effects, and one Open!).  But my biggest surprise that that the 1st place photo also won best photo of the contest!  I am really happy with my results (not bad for a first timer!), and, in all honesty, I think I had good enough photos to win even more prizes, but I think they felt bad giving me so many prizes already!

Yeah, the rose was taken in full color, and then I photoshoped it to take the color out, masking the rose to that anything red or green would be seen.
