Newbie to the forum, but long time Jeeper.
Current ride 95 YJ 2.5 5 speed
Past rides 84 CJ-7 4.2 T-176
85 XJ 2.5 auto
85 Grand Wagoneer
90 YJ 2.5 5speed
98 Grand Cherokee 4.0 auto
Came here for advice on mods for my newest
YJ just bought it two weeks ago
1995 with 104k miles just installed new Bestop Sunrider
With 2 piece soft doors, came with hardtop bought it for
$4800 absolutely no rot, solid frame. Think I got a good deal, but although
I had a 1990 basically the same rig it didn't last very long.
It had a valve cover leak and I guess an electrical fault
And it burned to the ground a week after a put a new top
And seats in it. Most of the info I have gotten on the 2.5 is that
It's a reliable motor but very difficult to mod.
My Jeep has later TJ wheels with 225/70 16's.
Does this change my gearing? I'm worried that I may damage
My motor at highway speeds or that my speedo
May be off quite a bit?!
I was thinking about a throttle body spacer and
A 4.0 L throttle body, but I've heard that any gains are
Short lived and that adding a cat back and cold air system
At the same time is the only way to make that mod worthwhile.
Any advice would be appreciated I don't mins shelling
Out for all of those mods, but only if it's worth it. Thanks in advance
For your help and I'm glad to find a forum that doesn't frown on 4cyl Jeeps
