1995 yj block temp sensor (rear)
« on: January 12, 2015, 08:20:58 AM »
Would anybody have the part # for the rear block temp sensor.   Went to napa and they don't list it, couldn't even find the listing.       This is for a 95 YJ 2.5 .  This part is located on the driver side rear. Single wire/single pin.  All I can find is a 2pin .          I noticed the other day that the porcelain was broke and had separated.   I think this is just an over heat sensor??           Any help would be appreciated.

it's in the head not the block, it is the gauge cluster water temp sender.

Typically, as an industry standard all parts for any given vehicle are available 10-11 years after the production line ends.  After that, it's a special order and usually from a third party.  In this case, Jeep sold all their OEM parts supply to Omix-Ada and Crown Automotive.  Both companies have continued connections with the companies who originally made the parts so they're as close to OEM as you're going to get.

you can use an autometer temp gauge sender if you can't find an OEM one, it's a little bit off but not by much. They have a short version as well, I can't remember which one I used on mine (short or long) but before that I had the stock sender with the autometer gauge and worked ok, like I said a bit off on reading but would work.
