I try to do all my work on my jeep with the tools I carry with me. If I have to run to my main tool box for a tool then it gets put in my jeep tool box. I went over my jeep and figured out pretty much every socket or open end wrench I should ever need for a trail repair. I put a few extras in there of real common sizes too. Co2 or OBA is a must. As well as some starting fluid if you are not running beadlocks like me. I might as well start a list of stuff you forgot.

Bailing wire
Starting fluid (for reseting beads)
Misc tape (duck, electial)
Extra fluids
   Gear oil
ATF (very important if you have an auto tranny)
   Motor oil
   Brake fluid
Spare U-joints
CB
Ohm meter
Lots of spare fuses (don't forget the ones under the hood)
A gallon of water (for drinking or for the rad)
High lift (can be used as a winch or removal of stubborn teeth)
I know you put this one down but I can't belive how many people
     wheel without one.

I once read somewhere that:

"Any tool you ever need in you garage is the same tools you need to take 4wheeling with you"

Now this could end up being a really popular topic.   Are we going to point out what tools to have, or what tools to take with you wheeling?

I also carry a large C-clamp for u-joints and such, a rubber mallet for hooking the disco's back up, and a magnetic pad to hold whatever you need while under your toy.

Here's what the pad looks like.

i bought a handy little 1/4 and 3/8 socket set from home depot for $39. i also carry a pair of vise grips, a small walmart bottle jack, a 4-way, jumper cables, and hammer.  i drove my jeep about 17,000 miles over the last year and havent had any problems cept for a battery.

if i go wheeling or on a trip i carry some more crap, mostly basic tools.

dont forget your supplies:
duct tape(duh)
zip ties
hose clamps
heater hose
jumper wire
fuses
serpentine belt(keep your old one for a spare when you get a new one)
small wood block(4x4x8)
fluids

Choker chain (or any good chain)
Tire plug kit
Gasket sealer
spare nuts, bolts and hardware (castle nuts and cotter pins)
blanket, warm clothes sealed in ziplok baggies.  Socks and shirts or anything else in case you find out thst the water puddle you just drove in was deeper than you thought.
hidden food...   granola bars or power bars, for just in case you'll be spending the night
(nothing yummier than manifold burrito's)

Another person, rig, vehicle of some sorts!  Never ever go wheeling alone, and make sure someone knows where you are going and an estimated time you'll be back.
