Topic: Anyone here ever try the Rampage Frameless Top?

I am considering getting this for my Jeep.  I figure since I now use it mainly to wheel, the soft top should make it lighter, and this top in particular should be slightly slimmer than the regular top, which is good to keep it protected from trees and stuff (plus, I kind of like the slight fastback look!).  So, what do you guys think?

I am still debating if I keep the hard top or not, as it leaks all over the place.  I did get some new weather strips to replace the ones currently in the top (also got new hinges for the rear window, which are deformed and also cause leaks), but it might be better to just replace it with a soft top...  But who knows.  I may keep both if I get it!

I've only seen the California Tops/Hero Offroad frameless top in person. They were really nice and I kinda wish I got one before they stopped making them for YJ's.

I've also owned a non-Bestop OEM top and it was horrible.  The fit was loose and having a rear side window blow out at 70 mph isn't fun.  luckily, I got it as a trade.  Not to mention the top leaked.  I'll only buy Bestop.

Rampage was one of the reminance of Steelhorse.  I think you'd be better off fixing your existing top then buying a new top.  Although your top is a Steelhorse isn't it?  I had leaking in the rear because the whole seal around the opening was lifting off.  You might have to straighten and reinforce your existing hardware.  Replacement parts for a non-OEM top might be hard to come by.  Hopefully, you can fis it was jsut new seals.  This was one of the reason I sold my Guidon/Steelhorse hard top and got an OEM.

I currently have a Pavement Ends Targa top.  Supposedly, you can take off just the front and leave the back in place, but since there is nowhere to put the top in the Jeep, I don't really do this.  Also getting tired of the hard top half doors; the windows barely open, which makes taking them off for wheeling a necessity.  Apart from the leaks and the weight (when wheeling), being able to open up the passenger compartment so that air actually moves through when wheeling would be a welcome addition.  Either way, I plan on fixing the hard top as best I can, but I am seriously considering replacing it with this top.  Reviews on Amazon are good...

Yeah, that was one of the big issues with me as well.  The windows don't open enough to use them.  Not only that but they aren't very secure.  You can also remove the upper doors and throw them in the back of the Jeep.  I'm sure you could get the top back in there was well.

As for the Rampage, I don't know.  30 reviews isn't a lot.  Seems like zippers are a problem.  I don't really like third-party tops.   You also might want to see if the warranty covers outside of the US.
