I was looking at the Flowmaster 50 series too but decided not to go that route for a couple reasons. For one I couldn't find that the Flowmaster 50 series was made out of stainless steel and I wanted to stick with stainless since I have invested in stainless steel everywhere else, and two because I actually found the The Edelbrock SDT price in stainless steel at $117 shipped where as the cheapest I found the Flowmaster 50 series for was $155 plus S&H.

I had a Series 40 back when that was the only one they sold.  First thing was that it was loud even at idle.  A lot louder them my Borla.  The exhaust note got raspy at higher RPM's a bit too.

Flowmasters have what they called aluminuzed steel.  This is fancy talk for aluminum paint.  The paint gets soft and burns off after a while.  My flowmaster ended up cracking at one of the welds on the muffler and broke off while I was in town.  This really sucked since at the time I had to drive past the PD station every day.
