Well, got a call back on a 78 F250 with D44/D60, 4-sp and 205. Can't remember the engine size. Needs little to make road worthy... and he took my $600 offer (me sight unseen).
I'm in the middle of swapping in '99 8.8, have the D35 already out and sold to someone to pickup tomorrow, 8.8 is broken down and brackets cut off for MAD4WD.com brackets, ordered 4.88 gear/LR locker and scheduled install and welding of brackets on.
If engine is the 300 (4.9l), think that'll fit in the engine bay of the TJ? If I swap in the axles, I'll have to go custom links. That tired 4cyl barely pushes the 34's on D30/35 axles, never mind D44/D60 and 37's....
This Wrangler was just to get together, run well, and not break. KISS was the theory.
