Engine Swap
« on: June 21, 2006, 04:17:07 PM »
Anyone know someone in North Idaho or Spokane that would swap my 2.5 for a 4.0 other?  I have called around and I am having a hard time finding someone that knows anything about this kind of swap.

Thanks in advance...

In Missoula there's AEV conversions.  I'll bet Dave is pretty expensive, but I'll bet worth every penny.  He does some great work with Jeeps.  His number is (406) 251-2100.

I can't see anyone else in that area, but maybe Dave can refer you to someone he trusts.

Central 4WD is in Spokane (800) 829-9699 doesn't do conversions, but maybe they can refer you too.

Good luck!

Thanks for the idea, expensive but worth it or just expensive.  What kind of prices should I expect as a low guess?

Thanks for the input

AEV = $$$$$$$

$$$$$$$ = quality, trust, dependability (you'd hope)

Dave Harrington at AEV has been doing this for a long time.  Trustworthy and reliable.

I never said it wasn't quality but you will pay a premimum for it.  I'm not sure if hey do a 4.0L swap.  They are known for their slick as snot, 5.7L Hemi's.

My dad actually did just the swap in his YJ, and the swap was only $2800 CDN not including the engine, tranny, and t-case.  This did include mods to the driveshafts, clutch, and exhaust mods though.

Ask for Kent!!  He should be better equipped to help you out.

1-406-251-2100...   If Lonnie does not pick it up, she is always checking voice mails and forwarding them on to who can assist.

(I just got off the phone with her and she was really apologetic about not getting back to you :oops:)

Try 3, no call back.  Done deal. Lost a customer, first impressions are a son-of-a-gun.
