This problem isn't on my Jeep, but my '89 Probe (still a 4 banger
). Here's the story from the begining: The seal on my oil pan was weak, and one day when I downshifted, she broke lose, and on my way home I ended up strippin out a few rod bearings and the single item that costs more than the whole frickin car, my turbo :( . I ended up buyin a used engine for nearly 700 bucks that was "complete" without the exhaust manifold and turbo. For a "quality used" part, it sure was a POS. I found a WASHER on top of a piston. But anyways, I rebuilt that, but used the head from the engine I replaced since that was new, and I still have a problem with burnin oil. Recently I just came to the conclustion that I might have stripped out the valve guides and they are leakin oil into the cylinders. Whenever I start it up, and let it idle, it's perfectly fine, not smokin at all, but when I give it some gas for a few seconds, then the smoke show starts, and if i stay on the gas long enough and let off, she'll bog down and stall.
So what do y'all think, am I right about my valve guides, or could it be somethin else (I did replace the turbo, so it can't be that).
