Hi all,
Just joined up. Been a member of a few other boards, but none dedicated to my beloved 4banger. I'm hoping to find more info on possible modifications as well as offer any help I can.

Hi my name is art and I reside in so cali have had my Jeep wrangler for about 5 months now. Bought it brand new a 2006 se. Since then it has gotten poison spider rock sliders rock crawler bumpers front and rear with d rings. Then I got stuck on a hill with the stock bicycle tires so it got some bf goodrich at's 31x10.5x15's which helped traction also shoe horned a electric compressor from harbor freight under the hood this will be replaced by a more conventional oba setup in the next couple of months. Last week I installed a dana 44 rear axle with discbrakes and a limited slip diff in it, it came from a 2004-2005 wrangler unlimited got it cheap just had to brace the trackbar mount. Tried it out last weekend and while rock crawling did not notice any wheel spin in the rear. I am quite happy with that Now the beasty needs to be lifted since it was bashing on rocks. Ps I am 47 and a long time mechanic would love to hook up with other Jeepers in the so cali area for wheeling and help with repairs on their rigs

Hi since my grueling drive to work is 5 miles of surface streets and takes 10-20 minutes I think I will stick with the Californian weather.

But thanks for the offer lol who knows in another 11 years or so I might retire and move to a place with cold and nasty weather, I think not lol

I just purchased a 1990 YJ in good shape, lots of miles but owned by a father a son the whole time.  It has 31 tires and all new interior including new seats.
2.5L engine, 5 speed.  This my Toy not my every day car.  My off roading will be mostly fire roads and the forest service roads.  I live in the SF Bay Area in California so I do not do snow. I thought I was buying a 91 but ran the Vin and checked the numbers it is a 90.

Hello all, my name is Tinker and I am in NW Ga. I have a 97 TJ SE with a few mods and thoroughly enjoy my little 4 banger.
Here in Ga. we wheel a combination of mud, logging trails, rocks, and anything else that come along. I am a member of the Dixie Diggers off road club. Here is a poser pic .

and mild playing.

 Glad to be aboard.

Just updating myself: Names Dave im from CT, and i drive a 97' with 112,000 miles purchased back in Oct.06, cleaned it up a lot and recently finished installing a 4 inch suspension lift along with a 1" body lift (first time working on a jeep) but it was fun. Right now i'm missing it, couldn't bring it with me to college here at Uconn(go Huskies ;)) so i gotta wait a few years, but cant wait till the summer so i can drive it again. Here is the most recent picture before i left home: Awesome site btw with tons of useful information, glad to be here!

Howdy. Name's Kyle. I'm 21, from West Virgina (born and raised). I'm a Graphic Designer (I do freelance  ;)). I'm waiting on my girlfriend to get her Master's degree and then I'm shipping out (hopefully west... Colorado maybe?) I need mountains, but my profession kinda calls for a city nearby, and we don't have many of those in WV. Pittsburgh's the closest city, about 2 hours away. So anyways, the rig: I drive a '96 XJ 2-door with the 2.5L. It's stock at the moment, but hopefully in a month or so, after Uncle Sam writes me a fat check, I'll be trail ready.  :thumb: Here she is:

So much potential...

This is more or less the long term goals, as made possible by Photoshop and a Bushwacker ad:

I am not too worried about adjusting the steering stops.

I wanted to see what is involved but i couldnt find it.  I even searched it and nothing came up.

I'm Graham from TN but I live in Oceanside CA.  I'm stationed at Camp Pendleton with the 11th Marine Regt.  I'm a 2862 and I've been in for almost 7 years.  I cruse around in a red 1990 yj TBI with 31's on old a$$ cragar rims, black best top soft top.  I just put in some two 10" RF subs and a 400w kicker amp.  I have a kenwood head unit tucked away in a Tuffy deluxe stereo lock box and a JC Whiteny special over-head speaker bar.  I have plans for a ful engine rebuild in the near future.  I'm going to try to convert it to MPI then after ALOT of saving I'll pick up some forced induction.  Cheers. :beers:
