Welcome!  So is your '92 a Sage Green Low Gloss Metallic?
More like a Sage Green sun faded metallic, what isn't Iron Oxide red that is.  I pulled the faded pin stripes off a few weeks ago, and got to see the original paint color.  More determined than ever to paint.  I'm not a shiny kind of guy.  Replaced the throttle body the other day, coincidentally the same day the temp dropped from around 95 to 80 degrees.  Had fun, but wasted a lot of gas.
Swap was the easiest thing I've fixed on the Jeep so far, and that IAC gets filthy!  Pretty sure cleaning that up was what fixed my unsteady idle.  Tires up next.  Nothing special, just some cheap A/T's.  Thanks for the welcome, btw.

The color is fairly rare and was only available on '92's and only on Wrangler, Base and Sahara's.  I like the color, it hides small scratches well.  Although mine has water spots all over the place and is faded on the hood and fenders.

I have a 1992 YJ with a 2.5L 5spd, 4" rough country lift, rough country disconnects, crager 15x8 black steelies, 32x11.5" dunlop mud rovers, stock gears, and a cherry bomb muffler<--- hell yeah!... anyways I like my jeep even though its a 4cyl and I don't really give a shit. 4-low drives fine through the mud, I plan to re-gear and do some light- very light engine mods for some better driveability and gas mileage also want to put a e-z locker in when i regear with some stronger axles. I hope to get some good info from this board and hopefully can contribute also... see ya out there....

Hi, My name's John. (all together now....."Hi John!")  Ok, so it's not that kinda place.  Anyway, glad to be here, learning a ton of info by spending time reading old posts.

I've got a 97 TJ with 4 hungry squirrels, 2" BB, 31x10.5 Cooper STTs, Jet performace chip (don't bother), Firepower ign, homebuilt snorkel, hi-lift, yada yada yada.

I'm currently in Iraq for my third tour, big plans for the Jeep when I get back.  4.56, rear Detroit locker, 33s and alloy axels.  I don't rock crawl with it, just play in the woods/sand/mud around North Carolina.

I'm here to learn and hopefully share what info I can.

Just a quick introduction...
     I recently bought a 97 SE/auto, 2.5L, 3" body lift, 30" BFG AT's on American Racing Outlaw 2's, a pioneer 300watt stereo, and a light bar with 4 lights that currently aren't working.
I had my drivers licence revoked for a dui back in 99.  I haven't driven a car (legally) since then!  So I have been waiting seven years to drive again...I did take off for 3 years and live in the city of Chicago were you don't need a dl.  But I finally got my sh*t together and thought how fun it would be to drive a wrangler with the top down cruising for the first time in 7 years.
I went and bought myself one from a lexus dealer (free car washes!!!) with only 32k miles!! for only $8,900.  This was a one owner car that a guy kept at his vacation home for weekend fun and a little trail riding (there was still some mud under the skids!) I am extremely excited about driving again...even if I can only go to work and school!
I have a whole year to work on some trail mods...I have an intoxalock ignition device that I have to blow into my car to get it to start...BAC 0.0 of course.  It is going to be a pain in the ass to do any mods myself right now...but I am looking for a good shop to take care of the routine maintenance...and possibly some labor while I supply the parts.  \
I am not new to jeep ownership I bought a family ride back in 98 a 93 jeep cherokee sport for my girlfriend to drive my kid around.  She unfortunately totalled it before I even made the first payment!  Needless to say the relationship ended quickly after that (other things beside my jeep).  And my best friend has 2 Jeeps, a 4.0 sahara with a lift and 33"s and an old JGC with 130k.
So I look forward to meeting you all and sharing stories and info.  Never thought I would be rocking a four cylinder but mine just kinda came at the right time...I had 2 weeks to buy a car or the state wouldn't give a permit...long story.  But this is eventually going to be a 2nd car for me and will mainly be a trail worthy rig for weekend getaways...I am probably gonna buy an 04 JGC LTD (best year in my mind) and make that a combination street/trail or a SRT-8 but I need a garage first for that one.
Anyone know a good 4x4 shop around Chicago?..it's a shame Godmudders closed.
Happy Trails,
Kevin

Hey Everyone,

I'm new to the Jeep thing.  Always wanted one, so I finally bought a 95 YJ last week.  I took the engine out yesterday to rebuild it and I should be on the road in a week or two.  Mostly stock now, but I plan to add a few mods:  33's, a little lift, and some accessories.  This vehicle will be our "Beach" toy as we travel to the Outer Banks, NC every weekend.  Maybe we'll see you there

Hello Everyone,

My name is Bob, I am 49yo and I live in Mission Viejo, CA.  My new toy is a 1995 YJ 2.5L AX5.  I have owned 3 Jeeps and this is my first 4 banger. This Jeep is totally stock and has never seen the dirt.  Boy is this thing in for some radical changes.  My first plan is to add a moderate lift 2.5" and then wheel it until it  breaks.  Then fix it.  We play in the Southern California High Desert mostly with some trips up into the Sierras.  For the last 4 years I have been building VW Baja Bugs but you just can't get a Jeep out of your system.  So a few weeks ago I sold the Baja and bought this Jeep.  It will not be a daily driver but will be driven on the street to get from trail to trail.  I look forward to learning and contributing on this unique forum and meeting some of you out on the trail.  Thank you.

Desert Bob

hey yall. i  have a 1987 jeep wrangler i have had 13+ years it was all stock when i purchased it and it had 25k miles on it. now 125k i drove it all through highschool and could never bare to get rid of it. i have had some ups and downs but she is still with me. the trasfer case messed up and i kept driving it so the rear end blew up too. she sat for two years.  :'(  when i decied to bring her back form the dead i was just going to get her running simple right.  well a 4.5 inch rubicon express lift was added, family cage, electric fan, tj flares rebuilt the tranny, upgraded to a np231 with a aa sye, tom woods drive shaft, why re-gear a d 35? i put in a ford 8.8 with 4.56s and now locked up with a brand new ox locker. most of the work i did my self. im hoping to find some ways to get som more power out of the engine, there are not many upgrades i can find.

Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you built yourself a nice ride. Be sure to post pics in the "Poseur Central" section.
