Hello All,

I was told of this site by a fellow member (TrailsLessTaken) and thought i would join up as i too have a 2.5L  :weee: :weee:

Aptly called ODTJ, it's a 1997 TJ with the 2.5L/5Spd,etc.  I bought it in November 2008 with the sole intention of doing a complete restoration/build on it..  Rather than repeat everything here, for those interested in the specs,etc..., the full build can be found at

http://www.jeepkings.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=85078

Or for a full photo album,

http://picasaweb.google.com/offroadin

I will add it too under the poseur section for reference in the future :)

Cheers all.

Greetings from NW Minnesota! I've got '84 & '86 XJ's both are 4dr, 4spd, 4cyl, 4X4 (Series 78). The 86 is my work beast, the 84 is for everything else. 86 is TBI, 84 is carb. Until I can get to cut&paste (The shop computer is a 12 yr old H-P) , please check out my tech article on NAXJA or CherokeeForum. I have the ultimate lo-buck solution
for Carter YFA's. Search "XJ 2.5 YFA Nutter Bypass (Plus)". Try it, copy it, hand it out! Merry Christmas from wilco40 and the rest at Blackdog Motorsports! WE ARE A BIKE SHOP NOT A JEEP SHOP SO THIS IS NOT A FREE COMMERCIAL!!! :weee:

Allow my self to introduce........myself? I am 27 yrs old, no kids, mot married (but have a great girl who loves to wheel) I personally have a 97 XJ that I wheel and back in March got Nicole a 94 YJ S completely unmolested with 94k on it. It since has received a 4.5'' RE kit, SYE, brake lines, and a few other odds and ends and her list keeps growing. Heard about this site from the KCJeepClub guys and thought I'd come check it out.

Hey, newbie here from PA.  I've owned a '97 Grande Cherokee for about 4 years.  It's AWD with the 5.2 liter engine.  It's been great up until this past year which I need a fuel pump.  But all and all it's a good vehicle for my wife and I.  No worries for her when to shift it into 4-wheel.

From my experience with the GC I thought that I would buy a used Wrangler this past fall.  My brother-in-law has an 08 and has had a few in the past, including a 4 banger, and he's very dedicated to Jeep.  So with his recommendation I purchased a used '01 Wrangler with the 2.5, automatic transmission, and softtop.  I knew it had an exhast manifold crack but I drove it about 20 miles to work and back a couple days a week.  About two weeks after I had it my buddy at a local shop said he would replace the manifold for me.  On the way to the shop the #4 piston went and I had to replace the motor with a rebuilt 2.5.  I haven't had nothing but troubles since.  I don't know if it's the Jeep or my luck.

I've owned several makes of 4 X 4 and I like getting off road a bit.  I have fun driving in the snow here in PA and would like to find some offroading locally if anyone knows of any.  Some of my other vehicles are a '98 Ford Ranger 4 X 4, a 2010 Mercury Milan, a 1949 Chevy, a 2004 Harley Ultra, and a 98 Polaris ATV.

I think you guys are doing a great job with this site.  As stated, there ain't much out there for 4 bangers.  I'm gonna try to help out as much as I can and I look forward to talking to younze guys.

My Name is brad. I am the proud owner of a 1990 YJ with 70k original miles.  Just customized it alittle, nothing to extreme.  Fabricated front pushbar with KC lights, rhino lined interior. Looking to do a gear swap to 4.88's.  Live in Carson City, Nevada and haven't been here long enough to find any good places to take the YJ

Well, you've come to the right place...  The 4banger should not have too much trouble moving 32" rubber if you set it up propperly...  I drive 33" MT's, andeven others here drive with even bigger tires and still get decent mileage...  Welcome!
