Hi, my name is Josh. I have a 2002 Wrangler 2.5l. It has a 1.5 lift kit w/ 32'' BFG MTs, AEM Brute force cool air intake, jet performance chip, a Banks Monster Exhaust, cool temp thermostat, and a Smittybilt rear bumper w/ tire carrier. With more to come. I am debating what to do next. Gears? Engine swap? Need more power!

Howdy, my name is steve and im an alcoh... uhh ...lol bought a 98 tj last year.  It is the car i have dreamt about since i was 5 years old.  now i can start customizing it.  nothing to fancy.  i live in vegas so keeping it cool is always a priority, all the trails are sand and dirt, havent done any crawling.  have a kid so i need the back seat. have 15inch rims but with street tires because someone thought it would be funny to slash the seats and tires.  and a full safari bikini top because i just cant hang on those 116 degree summer days.

Hello everyone,

There's some great information here. Thanks to all of you who have participated in my education.

I've been driving a mostly stock 98 TJ since 2001 and I've been quite happy with it. In the next few weeks I'll be installing a 2" lift, BFG 31 x 10.5 x 15 tires, 15 x 8 steel wheels, rear tow hooks, shocks,  and a few other things. After that will be a new battery, high-output alternator, and winch. It's nice of Washington to give me back some of the money they've confiscated over the years so I can stimulate the economy, so I'm doing my part.

Thanks again for sharing your wisdom and experiences.

Peter

My name is don.. Im 16 years old and on my 2nd wrangler.. I have finished cleaning this one up and doing a couple little things and am now trying to sell it to buy another wrangler but i am having some issues with it and wanted to see if anyone on here could pinpoint my problem... Its a 97 4 cyl with air raid cold air intake, flowmaster muffle, 6 in suspension lift and 35 in tires... The way i drive it i have no problems i shift at about 2800 rpms that way when the rpms drop when im in the next gear they stay at about 2000.. If you shift at to low of rpms or give it alot gas when your under 1800 rpms it will kind of bog down.. It is compltely fine as long as i keep it above 1800 rpms but its bugging a few people.. I was told it could be distributor or spark plugs.. anyone have any ideas or think thats right??
Thanks for your help[, Don Shearer

hi all im chris and I live in central ill.  got my 97 tj bout 6 months ago after being a long time chevy die hard.  So first off I put a 3 inch lift with 34 ltb swampers on it.  then cut in a free flowing exhaust, electric fan, and the 4.88 gears are sitting in the garage getting ready to put them in this weekend.  Also ordered my 4.0 throttle body and trying to figure what injectors I want.   glad to see that im not the only one trying to squeeze as much out of it as possible, having a machine shop to work in is a big plus.

Hey all. Name is Mark, I have a '90 2.5L YJ that just had a '97 2.5L (with an inertia ring) mounted under the hood. Behind that is an SM420 then a NP231.
Sits on 33's, locked in the rear, 8.8 sitting in the corner of the garage, drop pitman arm some where in the garage etc...
Tonight I start hooking up the electrical and figuring out the fuel delivery problem I'm faced with so I'll be posting up looking for the light at the end of the tunnel.
