I've got a 1995 YJ 2.5L that has a hole the size of a softball, drivers side right where the oil pan meets the block.

I've been going nuts trying to locate a use block to swap it out with. I was curious if the Cherokees had the same motor and block? If so what years matched up to the 1995.

 Didnt seem to have much luck using the search forums.

since your doin a moter swop make it a 4.0 or a 350. more power then any 2.5 could ever dream of makin. good luck any questions just ask

You don't have to limit yourself to a YJ 2.5L.  I'd go with a +'91 though.  Cherokee, Comanche, TJ Wrangler should all share the same block.

Thanks for the info guys. I live in Anchorage, Alaska. It's been kinda tuff finding the right motor to match up. Only one's i've found so far have way over 100,000 miles.

I picked up a reconstruct tile Jeep to have as a project 4x4. So I'm trying to keep the costs down. Once I throw a new motor in it and see what else might be wrong with it. I can figure out how much more it will cost me to get it where I want it.
