Grand Cherokee Wheels on a Wrangler

Saw this TJ today and the owner had installed those gold-colored alloy wheels from a late 90's Grand Cherokee on it.  They looked pretty good on the thing, I have to admit.  Could see doing something like that for my YJ if the price was right.  Seen any other non-Wrangler Jeep model wheels on a Wrangler?

I've seen cherokee limited wheels on a YJ, along with random grand cherokee wheels also. I've seen one guy who had a set of those new 17" rubicon wheels on a TJ wrangler (used the 1.25" wheel spacers/adapters). I thought about changing up my wheels for awhile, but until i'm ready to start upgrading my breaks im going to be sticking with my little 15" rims.

I'm not sure of the exact year, but somewhere they changed the GC lug pattern to 5x5 instead of our 5x4.5.

I figure when I do a tire upgrade (31s-33s; but, will be a while), I'll probably pick some used Jeep alloys from a YJ or TJ Wrangler or from a Grand Cherokee with the right pattern.

As far as brakes, you can get a big performance upgrade by just going with steel lines, better front rotors and upgraded replacement pads/shoes, & DOT4 synth fluid all around.  I use EBC rotors & pads and steel lines, synth fluid and the brake performance on my no-lift Wrangler YJ (decent Bridgestone revo tires  - a fairly "street" AT tire - don't hurt braking either) is sports-car good.   This brake setup feels like it would probably work ok with 31s to maybe 33s with only a fractional loss in stopping performance.

Yeah, they're a little -Smokey and The Bandit-   But, my YJ is pretty plain and needs the glitz.

Got Wood?

It was the wj 99-04.

And notice how these sweet Gold GC wheels have what looks like 5 "Y-shapes" in the alloy pattern to better to accent the mightiness of the "Y"-J

i'm not a big fan of gold, although sometimes it does look good with the right color scheme. I've thought about going with some of the 16" 5x5 bolt pattern wheels and just running the spacer/adaptors, some of the newer wheels are pretty nice. If i get a steal of a deal on some, i'll definately be doing it, but with the spacers/adaptors costing 100+ its hard to not just buy aftermarket wheels haha.
