I got a P0551 on  25-8 and it says the light comes on at high speed. Mine is a 2001 fsm though. Brief description= high pressure seen at high speed for 0551: Scan Display= Power Steering switch failure.

On my 25-6 it starts with P0301(m). i have no cross reference handy for any other scan tool, iy just has listed for generic scan tool p-code.

While checking a fuel pump problem, I discovered a blocked fuel return line (probably gummed up fuel as the car sat for a couple months). Blew compressed air into the return line to unclog it. Am now getting 30 miles more from the usual 3/4 tank fillup.

Suspect clogged line = excessive pressure = running rich.

You can tell if your return line is clogged if the line pressure doesn't drop after a minute of shutting off the engine. Used a pressure gauge plugged into the EFI fuel rail.

Hope this helps

6099 thanks for the tip on the fuel pressue issue will have to check that one.

Tall Boy no problem I was not trying to cause friction.  I believed they must have changed the chart in the FSM as my listed three different code references.

I did not take it personally cromwell, I actually got a chuckle from it. But I got scared of fuel pump issues awhile ago and founf that the in tank pumps need gas to coll it down, so I always run it with a good amount of gas in it to coll the pump. I also have been using gas additives like sea foam to keep it clean. I put  marvel mystery oil in the tank a couple of weeks ago too. I really do not want to rip out the tank for a pump issue so I keep up preventative maintenance and have been doing it since I got it.

Its all good.  Now that I changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor.  I am getting not only the code 65 but also a code 51 (fuel system lean) what else should I be looking at.  The reason I am asking is now that I am living in Ireland I can not just run down to an autozone or NAPA as they do not exist.  So any insight you all have will be great.

champion plugs are crap in jeep engines. i use bosch platnum plus 4's and great power all around with my 4 banger, although i have added a few power adding items to the engine also. i usually get between 16-18 m.p.g and thats with my foot in the throttle constantly on a 20 gallon tank. if you want to improve fuel economy a full tune up is in order, i.e fuel filter, plugs wires, cap and rotor, air filter. plus change your oil and run a full synthetic. syn.fluid in your diffs and snycromesh trans fluid in the trans will also help,as the engine wont have to work as hard make parts move. puttin more horsepower and torque to ground.
'93 yj 4in rubicon express lift, 33" bfg mud terrains, yella terra roller rockers, 4.0l throttle body, rv cam, k&n air filter, yukon axles and gears, detroit locker, aluminum radiator, msd 8.5mm super conductor wires, full syn. fluids.

Tall Boy were do you get the sea foam and marvel mystery oil.  They do not sell it here in Ireland so I will have to see if I can get it shipped to me.

Just do a search online for it, or get whatever they have there to add to gas and/or oil. The U.K is the mother land Cromwell.

The UK may be the mother land but at a 2 to 1 exchange rate it sucks.....
