If you go to the Jeep site and then look under Technical Data there is a catagory for Supercharger under Powertrain.  Although all models say 'No', it suggests that sooner or alter something will say 'Yes'.

that'd be pretty sweet a supercharged jk,  def did not expect that, but i also found out this week that the xtera come supercharged now.

That would be sweet. Also the xterra and frontier had a supercharger option for awhile, not sure if they got rid of it and then brought it back though. I almost bought a supercharged frontier...

Beginning of the year my Dad, old geezer, told me he's actually buying a 6spd '07 XTerra with the Off-Road package as a second ride.  I remember the supercharged models they had a few years ago, but those were supposedly underpowered even when blown. 

Nissan's not making the current XTerra's with a supercharger;  they're using the Nissan V6 "VQ" engine which is a nice product and has won Nissan a few awards over the years in its various forms. 

The Xterra Off-Road package is decent:  gives you a rear E-locker, 32" tires, Bilstein shocks, and rear axle is some kind of Dana 44 variant.  Suspension is a solid-axle rear, indy up front.  Supposedly the 07 Xterra is about as quick as the non-turbo, '06 Porsche Cayenne.  And, it seems like a decent buy for the money. Am a little jealous

Yeah, a factory supercharged JK would be nice. 

But, it they can make the SRT-8 Grand Cherokee, I don't see why they don't do a low production run SRT-8 Rubicon.

Wait, scratch that  .   Now that I think about it, if I am already in the market for a V8 Grand Cherokee, it wouldn't be such a step up to produce/buy the SRT-8 Grand - as long as I could live without off-road capability.  But, going from a JK Rubicon to an SRT-8 Rubicon...  For DC, the production cost of beefing up the JK drive-train to handle the 6.1 Hemi would probably be prohibitive, given a low volume product - especially a "trail-rated" one.  And DC making an SRT-8 Rubicon probably wouldn't do the other Wrangler models any favors, sales-wise, either, ie.  "I won't buy that V6 JK Wrangler now that I have the funds; Instead, I'll save up for a year or two and get that cool one with the Big Engine! Yeah!"

(course, there may be multiple markets for Wranglers and I am lumping buyers all together under the age 18-99 male "performance/off-road" demographic

if they did the srt 8 it would be like the old wranglers with the 4banger of the 4 liter. if you don't have the money you buy a 4 banger if you have the money you buy the 4 liter. and both did sell so it wouldn't hurt too bad

I hope they will not do a JK.  SRT stands for Street and Racing Technology.  This means the vehicles that use SRT are street oriented.  I don't think they will put 20's on a JK and give it an aero kit.

I would suspect the reason for the supercharger is to give the lumbering whale more performance without taking a hit in fuel economy or emissions.  The JK Unlimited was rumored to come with a Hemi but that hasn't happened.

As for the Nissans, the hardbody and xterra, they were heavy and the superchargers weren't making high enough numbers.  They should have used a larger engine to begin with.
