Mean Green alternator
« on: February 14, 2007, 10:29:34 AM »
I just put in a brand new Mean Green alternator.  I haven't taken a mulitmeter to it yet but it should put out 140 Amps as apposed to the stock 70 or 80.  I'm thinking it might spin alittle better then my stock one because the motor seems to rev a little faster.  could be my imagination though.  This weekend I may try to stick a sub or two in the old yj.  Hopfully I won't need a capacitor becasue I have everything except that.  I'm going to try it out before I run wires in a more permanent place.  If it sounds too much like crap I'll scrap the whole project.  Notice I said too much like crap.  I know it won't sound great because of the soft top and lack of carpet, but I just have to try it out and see if I can live with it.  Mean Green p/n is: 55112 52  here's a link for the actual part:
