Just wanted to say Hi to everyone  :wave:.

I have a 00 TJ with 2.5, ax5/231,Dana 30/35 4.10 gears, 2" BB an soon to be 33's.
Just starting to get into wheeling, have'nt been for a long time. I'll have lots of ?? the more stuff I break.

Be careful offroading with those 33's on that dana 35. I'd get nothing bigger than a 32 and that is pushing it. I'd actually only get 31's

I got the 33's on this past weekend,they do rub my LCA's a little when I turn full lock to the right. I think I'll be able to adjust my steering stops to fix that though. I do plan on doing some minor wheeling but not till I get some other adjustments done (bumpstops an shocks) beings I only have a 2"BB I don't want to get out there an a pop a fender off cause my bumpstops are to short. I have a 1"BL ordered an should be here this week an I'll get it on there to gain a little fender clearance.

I do know I have limitations to watch out for cause of that turdy5 out back,got me some spare axleshafts I carry with me. I plan on attending a "Novice" trail ride in April with it but only if I get the adjustments done to her.

Sorry it took so long to respond been working late trying to get some more Jeep money. Glad to see there is a site just for us 4 banger guys.

When you figure out your bump stops, you need to care about the full compression of the shock. Not only does the bump stop stop the tire from hitting the body, it also limits the amount of up travel for the shock. You'll need 1/2-3/4" of shock showing with bump stop fully compressed statically. The extra is for the bounce you get when you hit hard.

As for your spare shafts, I'd make sure your support tool bag has the proper tools as well. For the front axle stub shafts, a 36mm socket is necessary as well as a strong breaker bar. You'll need a 12pt 12mm or 1/2" (can't remember) combo wrench to remove the 3 bolts holding the unibearing on the front. You'll need tools to remove the caliper off as well. For the rear, you'll need a 12pt 5/16 combo wrench to remove the holding bolt for the center pin. You'll need a magnet on a stick to get at the c-clips and to remove any damaged chips of steel. You'll need 1/2" socket to remove the diff cover bolts. You'll need bucket to catch the gear lube and more gear lube to add when your done. Etc.

I'd suggest that you get with someone local in your Jeep club that is doing some kind of diff work. Crawl underneath and look inside the diff housing and see how everything meshes. You may have spare shafts, but if you can't get the broken piece out of the tube, then you can't get the new in. Rear shafts break when bouncing the truck with tire speed. Try not to bounce the truck and have tire speed. This is usually a case of bump it over the ledge scenario.

Welcome...I just started tinkering on mine.  Its a '99 2.5.  Had 35" Swampers on it when I got it and they were almost bald.  Guess the 35C is holding up pretty well so far.  33s on it now

Thanks for the advise on the diffs an shafts, I've been turning wrenches for about 10 years now an 8 years of that was just drivelines (trans,transfers,diffs an driveshafts) so I got that part under control, I got tools out the wazoo to.

I will try to keep the bouncing down to, to keep from breaking the axle shafts. Notice I did say try, I'll definately takes some pics an keep you guys posted.
