I think those 4 doors are pretty awsome. I just hope it doesn't fit the soccer Mom crowd. I guess if it does in 5 years or so there maybe opportunities to get on used. Though probably driven rough.

Actually, I would prefer the soccer moms to purchase them. In time, the pickings will be plenty to choose. Take a look at the XJ Cherokee. It started life in 1984 as a smaller replacement for the heavy beast of a Wagoneer. 2001 (IIRC) was the last year for it. That was a 17 yr run on a single vehicle style. I had an 87 for over 9 yrs. Nothing was available in early 90's (only 6-8 yrs old) for these great wheeling rigs. Now look at the aftermarket. The following is tremendous. Its probably because they are much more affordable to those who buy them used. The CJ5 - early 60s through 83 - 20 yrs. CJ7, started in 77 through 86 - 11 yrs. YJ - 87 to 95 (no 96 Wranglers were built) - only 8 yrs. How many of these other models do you see on the road versus other mfrs?
Introduction of a 4dr open cab utility is probably due from Jeep. The Liberty was to enbrace the XJ owners with a smaller more economical 4wd, but Jeep found their market share losing. As a business, Jeep, like any other mfr, could careless about a single owner. Its all about the masses.
Think of it as demand and supply. The demand is high for the soccer moms. In ~10 yrs, their children who can't afford new vehicles will be looking for cheap transportation. Getting a good street used 4wd Rubicon JK (~98% of 4wd don't see dirt) would be perfect for them. Little expense to lift, regear, tired, and they are off to the world. A lot of us couldn't, and still can't no matter their age, afford a newer 4wd vehicle, modify, and wheel.
