Here is what Ive learned.  If the insurance pays to fix it...they pay for all of it.  If they pay you to fix it they only pay about 50% of the cost. AS for the damage more can be done than you realize.  The front cowl could be tweeked as well as alot more of it.  Id point out everything that could be wrong and push for it to be completly fixed with garentee. Personally Id push for totaling it out.  Then Id  streighten the side, sell the good door and have a deticated trail rig.  Take the money from the total and buy a new jeep!!!

thanks huntingbuck I appreciate i'll check you guys out I gotta wait and see who the insurance determines is at fault and all that stuff and then see how much cash i am gonna get from the insurance company.  I'll keeps you guys in mind for sure I just don't think I'll be in the bemidji until around mid april but I am no rush and I do know that for some reason it seems like everything up in bemidji is cheaper than near the citys

Yea I would like it if they totalled it out too, to be honest but Kelly blue book had a ridiculously high value for it like 9,500 which I found to be unbelievable.  so with a high end estimate of 4200 and a 9000 value i doubt they will total it out

If you have a loan out they will not give you anything. the check will be in the name of you and the shop. If you own it free and clear they will cut you a check for the cost of the repair. what year is the jeep and how many miles are on it? It doesn't take much to have a total loss if the miles are higher. as for new or used parts it up to what the insurance company's policy is as far as aftermarket in MN they cant make you use it but if it close to being totaled they might want to use some to save it. You could refuse them but they might do a total loss and you would get a check for what the jeep was worth and most likely have a chance to do a buy back from them for the amount they would get from a salvage or reparable place. I'm thinking around 1/4 of the payout check.
