I'm paying $3.10 a gallon for regular 87 self-serve in the San Fernando Valley and that's the cheapest price going and its not even from a name-brand gas station. At 15-16mpg city for my 4banger this is starting to hurt; and to think I was going to decent-sized, bigger tires at some point
Feel bad for all those 4.0L guys at 12mpg probably
I know that the high pump prices are supposed to serve as a hedge against any mid-east calamity that may threaten the ability of the oil companies to operate. Only thing is, the oil companies get to keep all that money even if no calamity ever threatens the oil supply. Now, the devious part is, what happens if you are an oil company executive, fairly well informed about affairs in the mid-east
and you actually know that there is no real threat to your company's bottom line? You are just jacking prices because you can get away with it.
Frankly, if that's the case, I think somebody who owns both a shovel and a gun should have a talk with that person.
