Topic: 2.5 question

Is the 2.5 that mopar used in the late 80s and ealry 90s the same one we have in our jeeps. May be a stupid question, but I am finding these car guys making some really nice numbers and I got jealous. and wanted to kno if they were working the same motor I have in the driveway. Thanks Mike

in the link below they have cylinder head and they state that you can have it resurfaced (decked) for natural aspirated use.. will that bolt to my block? Thanks Mike

Depends - but prolly not... The Dakota got the AMC 2.5 at one point.

That's a Chrysler 2.5L not an AMC 2.5L.  Completely different.

Right, Chrysler didn't start using the amc 2.5 in anything but the dakotas till around 96' with the "2.5 magnum".  The earlier ones were totally different and nothing will interchange. Sorry

on thier website they say that they do other things then what is listed and that they are always trying to fit the "our", THE ENTHUSIASTS, needs. so i am going to call them today and see if i cant persuade them to start making me a head assemply for  my 2.5 equevelant to the enforcer 1.  I wil report back if I get anywhere. I'd just like to have around 200lbs-ft of torque and I can live with the low hp.

Did you ever seen Hot Rod Magazine's 2.5L Iron Duke build years ago?  I think it was pushing 4-500HP.  Then there was the  Cosworth Project DB (Super Duty 4) although not huge on HP it had a lot of torque.
