Thanks, i just got them and managed to get them for $75. He actually gave them to me for free and brought them by the office for me. I felt kind of bad taking them and he kept refusing the money so, I finally got him to take $75. It was very kind and we could all use a little bit of that these days.

That's a good price.  Practically free.  I'm sure the guy who originally had them would have just let them sit in the garage till he threw them away.  Fairly easy to install without a coil compressor.

I think you'll also need to disconnect the sway bars to get the axles to droop low enough to remove the springs.

Maybe...but you'll have those off anyway, right??  Or just get a spring compressor at AutoZone...

Disconnecting the sway bars will make it easier, but I don't think I'll need a spring compressor.

Those things (spring compressor) scare me, if you screw up and instantly unload all the pressure (don't know how it would happen) it could kill you.  When I put my first lift kit on I used one but ever since I have just disconnected the axle so don't have to use it.

I was afraid of them exploding in my direction... it just didn't feel safe. :uhoh:

A friend of mine sold his Rubi springs for $20... LAST FALL - We were at a swap meet and they were not moving.

He is running Crown Vic springs in the rear and XJ?? (not sure - I'll check) in the front clearing 33's.

Might want to look around - if you are going to the trouble might as well go BIG !

wait you talking ford crown vic cop car rear springs gives you enough lift for 33's... man if i only had a tj
1990 YJ 4cly, ax5, 2.5 inch BDS lift, 31 MTr\'s,  Powertrax-lockers all around, track-bars removed, boomerang shackles, warn m8000 winch, electric fan. [sold but not forgotten]

too lazy to put on the springs, but managed to get teh shocks on in a little over an hour. So far so good.
