8.8 GuyS!!!!

Hey my 8.8 is in and looking good. can anyone help me on the sway bar. I got extended links from currie. Will the sway bar work. I know I need to notch that webbing onthe right side. But other then that am i good to go? any help is appreciated. thanks guys, Mike

On my TJ when I did an axle swap I left the rear sway bar off, can't even tell its not there.

I didn't do an axle swap but I'm not running the anti sway in the rear either. No difference in the way it drives.
02 2.5.L automatic: 4.0L t.b., 4.0l air intake, K&N filter, Scream'n Demon coil, 8.5mm MSD Super Conductor plug wires, Stage 1 Jet Chip, 29" BFG all terrain KO's. Taurus E-fan, Hummer front bumper, Skyjacker high capacity trans pan, 48" hi-lift, Rubi susp w. 3/4" BB.

So...would you guys say the rear sway is there more for stability during emergency maneuvers??  Everyone seems to say they can't tell a difference when disconnected.
2009 Audi S5....what....its 4wd...sort of....

I would say that if you take it off you can't tell a difference.  I live in an area with mountains and take hard turns at speeds higher than the posted and don't have a problem.  I can say that if you don't have the front connected it does feel SCARY. Plus think of how many vehicles that don't have one and don't have a problem.

We have a lot of hilly/mountainous, curved roads here in northeast Pennsylvania and even at higher speeds I don't see a difference with the rear anti-sway removed. The Poconos aren't the Rockies but they can be pretty bad and I've never come close to an incident unless I have the front disco'd.

Panhard and swaybar are off  & Long gone on my 8.8 swap Never missed it. Offroad traction is way better with them off and after awhile you drive it they way you feel safe and you'll forget to think about them.

I think it needs to be clarified who is running TJ's and who is running YJ's when recommending to remove vital suspension components.  I can't see anybody running without a rear panhard bar on a TJ suspension with stock geometry.  I see some cornfusion in our near future.

The panhard/track bar was not removed from my tj, only the anti-sway bar. I wouldn't recommend removing the track bar on a tj but on the yj's it's doable. On the other hand the yj's didn't come with a rear anti-sway bar, only a front.

I missed that And I am Sorry. The Coil springed rear TJ would be a jiggle Ride without the Panard bar.
I will take my YJ & go to the back of the trial and eat Dust for awhile.I have learn a Good lesson THX Bounty .

On a TJ its not a bad idea to leave the rear swaybar in place it helps stability during highway manuevers and helps stability on the trail a TJ with the front swaybar disconnected rolls a lot on the trail the rear swaybar helps that some and still allowas good flex so if at all possible leave it or hook it back up you will like it it helps in of camber situations on the trail and does not really limit your flex. Quite a few serious off roaders leave it in place and want it connected on the trail

My inner sidewall of my tire rubs my frame spring bucket at flex with my 8.8... anyone else have this problem?
