Topic: Multiple electical problems

After the no start on the wheeling trip the '95 YJ fixed itself and has been starting reliably for a few weeks. 

But... today it had some very strange problems:

1) Right turn signal would not blink.
2) Right turn signal indicator on dash would turn on when e-brake was applied.
3) Right turn signal indicator on dash would turn on when lights turned on. Also a relay under the center of the dash would click when lights turned on.
4) Right front turn light on fender would not light up.
5) After a few more tries everything went back to normal.

Any ideas how I could start chcking into this?

Just as a first guess, I'd say that the turn signal switch wiring harness that goes from just under the steering wheel to the connectors at the bottom of the column has shorted out.

Sounds like a good guess.  This may even be related to the starting problems, which seem to involve the column wiring.

Maybe, but the starter switch is mechanical from the key to the last 1/3rd of the column.

Ok, now I see what you mean, the wiring up high in the column.  I sure hope it isn't that, something more out in the open would be easier to fix.

Yup, that wiring comes down the column and there is supposed to be a piece of rubber around it to prevent chaffing - especially if you have tilt steering.  On my kids 90 Comanche the piece of rubber was rubbed pretty raw when I replaced the column
