Topic: Advice on regearing my TJ

Just wandering if it would be posible to just regear the back end for now, and do the front end at a latter date when i can afford to do it. I want to slap a set of 4.88's in, but doing both at this time is a bit much on the piggy bank. I dont plan to wheel the little SE anytime soon, so i dont see what the problem in this would be. Theres a shop close to me that wants close to a grand to do both front and back, i just cant swing the whole thing at this time. The way i look at it is, after i get my BB, and 32's on, i could posibly do the back end shortly after so my little 2.4L 4 popper wont have struggle.

Yes, but don't plan on ever using 4wd till the gears match.

Yeah i know what you mean (Jeffy) about useing 4 wheel drive. Dont believe i've used it much at all exept just to try it out since i purchaced the jeep. Just wasnt shure if i had to take the front driveshaft off untill i got the front done, or not.

I'd still pull the front drive line just in case!  The front end still turns and all though the t-case isn't engaged the possibilty for some thing going wrong is still there!  I'D RATHER BE SAFE THAN SORRY!

Yeah, removing the driveshaft would make sure the idiot behind the wheel doesn't forget.
