Hillbilly Hotel
« on: November 11, 2007, 10:05:39 PM »
Just scored this camper for my tow rig for the grand total of a case of beer. The guy I'm getting it from got it with the truck he bought. Need to pick it up this weekend. Question is has anyone had one of these? Need to know what is required to take one of these off and put it on a different truck. 2 hr drive to get it and want to try to eliminate any surprises.

you need the camper jacks that mount to the side to lift it up so you can pull the truck out and back yours under it

And then does it just sit on the bed, or does it clamp down or something?

there are these 4 plates attached to all four corners of the bed that secure it. You should be able to find those and the jacks either on craiglist or look at a trailer/camper store or somebody that sells the pickup /six pack campers. to these plates you attaches double hooks with left and right thread with the piece in the middle you turn to tighten them

Looks like the current owner is going to drop it off by me for a fee.

Now I can get the right stuff for it at my leisure. Thanks aw, +1 for the help.

Found this thing has a working fridge and A/C!

What to say. you're a lucky dog. Enjoy the camping in style. Better beef up the springs on the Dodge though

I agree, between the tongue weight of the flatbed that's coming in spring and this 2000lbs in the bed I think I'll need it. Looking at something like this.

Might be a good excuse to put the Viair compressor in the truck and set up a belt drive for the Jeep.  :pot:

Okay, got the TC today. Pics below. Got it for 100.00 in gas for the owner to drop it off and a case of Busch light. Looks like I have a little work ahead of me, but the price was right.   :thumb:

That looks sweet for the price, I've been looking for one just a little bigger than that one for on my Truck when I get it running again in the spring, I want one w/ a bath in it for the week long wheeling/camping trips.
