Backup lights wont work anymore need help
« on: March 01, 2008, 03:38:38 PM »
I've got an 04 se, that needs inspected this month. The backup lights for some reason stoped working. I checked the fuses behind the clovebox, which is good. I checked the bulbs in the tail light covers, and there good aswell. The only other thing i can think of, is a switch thats on the tranny but not sure about that one though. So if anyone knows if there a switch on the tranny some were please help. The tranny is an NV1500 5speed, behind a 2.4L motor.

This is kinda off topic...well way off topic but my side marker lights don't work, but then when I flip on my turn signal they flash.  So I know its not the blub.  I think my YJ has some messed up wiring.  Anyway on your reverse lights, you thought of everything I would of thought of.  I'm sure somebody else might know how solve your problem.

Well guys, i kinda figured from the start what it might be with the backup lights. Just thought id throw it on here so somebody could direct me right to it. But in any event i called Advanced Auto to see how much a backup switch was for the little SE, and it was just under $10.00. I screwed the old one out, then screwed the new one in, and what do-ya no, they work.  Its on the pasenger side of the trans, real easy to get to.
