will 91 YJ computer work in a 94 YJ?
« on: April 10, 2008, 03:03:09 PM »
Will a computer from a 91 2.5 YJ 5 speed work in a 94 2.5 YJ 5 speed?  Not sure if it makes a difference but both would be Canadian models.

I have to travel a fair distance to pick it up and didn't want to make the trip to find out it didn't work.

thanks for any replies.

Nope  94 uses a different type of computer.

For the 1991 2.5L  Canada and US(Non california) are the same  http://car-part.com is a good place to find one and figure out what years will interchange.

Took a look at the computer on my 94 tonite.  It says 91 on it.    The previous owner did some ghetto repairs to this jeep before I got it... the computer was sitting on the inner fender when i got it, instead of the firewall.  I'm not sure the engine was swapped, doesn't look like it.  Would a 91 computer even plug into the wiring of a 94?

I'm trying to fix an ongoing stalling/sputtering issue after it runs for a while. The only thing I haven't changed is the computer.

thanks for any replies on the computer question...
