Electric fan

OK I am going to add Electric fan to the yj. what cfm rating is enough?

I found a Flex-a-lite 475 it pulls 2050 cfm, and 10 amps. Is this big enough?

If I were in your position (and I was a year ago), I'd go with the FoMoCo fan; it cost me (including the shroud and conector) a whole $28 and a trip to the junk yard (plus about $20 or $30 more for the relay, switch and wires.  I also ended up getting the Delta Current Control fan controller, which was about $120, and controls the fan speed according to the temp of the radiator, so it pulls much less amps than a normal temp setup (I now have it wired with a double position swithc, and I run the high speed wires through the controller for auto, I can switch the whole thing off, and I can override the controller and use the relay to run off the low speed wire so that if the controler ever fails - and it has not - I can still limp out with the fan on).  Anyway, just my 2 cents...

Taurus fan all the way  A  2 speed fan out of a 3.8L ford taurus will pull some serious cfm. You can do the wiring yourself or get a kit from delta current control. I currently have my fan sitting in the garage waiting to be mounted, but since winter is coming I dont have much concirn for cooling. The fan itself was 20$ at the junkyard and the wiring kit is about $100. Best thing is the wiring kit does everything for you. It maintains the temperature at 180, anything that goes above it kicks in the second speed and really pulls some air. You can still have a 3 way switch too for low, high and off (great for water crossings)

I have had my Taurus fan in for 3months and i absolutely love it. In the winter dont even have to turn it on that much. Only went on 1 trail ride with it so far and it was great.  The only downside i experienced on the trail was having to turn it off when go thru big mud holes and then forgetting to turn it back on afterword. It seemed to me that the electric fan actually kept my engine cooler and got a little more rev at the peddle for climbing those steep hills (but i think my newly installed front locker helped out more going up those steep hills   what a great upgrade that was).  But the final tally is i really like the electric fan and i highly recommend it for guys like us with those powerful 4 bangers.

Acually, it is even better; it uses pulses to control the fan speed, so it is not only high and low (it is actually only connected to the high speed wire), but you get infinite speeds, which are set according to the temperature at the bottom of the radiator (meaning temperature AFTER the radiator cooled it down).  This helps a lot to reduce the start up amps, as it does not go directly to full speed (it incrementally increases fan speed instead).

You can still have a 3 way switch too for low, high and off (great for water crossings)

That's how I wired mine.  You can even get a 2 color LED indicator which lets you know how fast the fan is turning.
