I would go with stainless steel.  Most post '96 all run stainless steel these day's.  If you live in a area that salts their roads, you'll want SS.  Mandrel bends are also a must.  You can tell the mandrel is used since the pipe isn't compressed nearly as much as with a standard pipe bender.  I'd also choose something with smoother bends and less 90* since that also affects flow.  Really though what you want it a company who backs their product.  The warranty will pay for the exhaust if you have to replace it.  Mine has done so several times over.  It's a no questions asked affair...

Otherwise, go as cheap as possible and just replace it when things break.

Banks is a quality product, with a lifetime warranty.  I run the torque tube header and the monster exhaust.  They work great together...even with the stock downpipe and stock cat.  I was going to go all ss with a new cat but costs became an issue at that point.  It is an awesome sound and works great with other mods.  I would recommned them over any other exhaust manufacturer.

thanks for all the help guys. i ended up goin with dynomax cause i just didnt have the $330 for the banks....i know a lot of ppl knock dynomax (i dont think they're great either) but i combined their ultra flow stainless muffler with their tailpipe (2.25 inch i think)..in the end ill have gained better than stock flow and maybe a few horses. ill hang on to this until i have enough $$ for the banks headers and banks monster exhaust.

I was thinking about putting just a dynomax muffler on the jeep for now, because the flowmaster dose sound kinda crappy heh  Why do people knock the dynomax?

they knock it in comparison to banks or borla. Ive talked to ppl who had dynomax (years ago) and the muffler rotted out within a year. They weren't running the stainless version however, i expect that to last a bit longer. Stock pipe size is 2 inch, banks runs 2.5inch and dynomax only runs 2.25, its still better than stock-some would argue its much better than stock and pretty much all you need out of the 4 banger. When it comes to quality and performance, from what ive heard, nothing compares to banks headers and catback setup. This will of course run you quite a bit of $$ so if ur strapped for $$ like i am, you may wanna consider the set up i went with-which is the ultra flow muffler and tailpipe-not the super turbo kit they sell at quadratec.
