That sweet! I have been wanting to do this mod for some time now but wasnt sure about fitment. I would love to see some close up shots of the snorkel mounted to the windshield frame. I have a roof rack that mounts to the windshield and have been hoping to be able to fit the snorkel on along with it. once you get yours mounted it would be a bg help to me if you could take some detailed pictures to help me decide before i go spending a big chunk of money! thanks! PS -where did you purchase it from?

I'll be sure to take some shots...  I also have some doubts about how well the norkell will fit with the windshield light mounts, but I guess we will find out soon enough (I have yet to open the box, but since I am not in Miami anymore, it will have to wait until I get back).  But anyway, let me know which areas you are interested, and I will be sure to take pics of that.

Well, I went throught he instructions and started taking a look in the Jeep to see what would need to be done to get the snorkel in, and that's when I noticed that the snorkel will not fit with the windshield frame mounted lights.  I kind of like the lights there, but I also want the snorkel.  What would be the best option to relocate the lights?  Light Bar on top of the windshield?  I am kind of afraid about it hitting trees (not to mentione my office garage top!).  And I already got fog lights on the front bumper...  Any opinions?

Just dump the windshield lights and go with the snorkel...you don't need them.

FYI - I was able to get my windshield brackets on with my snorkel.  I realize mine is a TJ, on the other side of the Jeep, and may be different, but you never know!

I installed my snorkel before I got my lights.  After getting the snorkel on, I realized I had enough clearance for the bracket, and it didn't interfere with the top part of the bracket.  The only trouble I had was with the antenna.

I took some pics, but it's night time, and they didn't turn out too well.

Give it a shot, you never know!

Thanks, but it seems the TJ and YJ truly are different; in the YJ, the snorkel truly wraps around the frame, meaning that it has a cut on the back and it is located both in front and to the side of the frame itself (where as in the TJ, it seems it's only to the side).  If you look at the bracket part of the diagram, you will see what I mean; in the YJ, you mount the bolts to the rear of the snorkel, and the then bolt the mount to the windshield frame (meaning that the bolts from the mount to the snorkel end up facing the frame); whereas in the TJ, the mount bolts first to the frame and then to the norkel (meaning the the snorkel covers only the frame bolts, but not the snorkel bolts).

By the way, it also seems that in the TJ, the snorkel comes into the engine bay at a lower point than in the YJ (something I like better in the YJ version)...

Thanks, TST, I think this could be an interesting option; I just wonder how it would affect visibility, though...  Anyone out there running these?

I'm more worried about losing my passenger mirror since it is located on the windshield frame now...right where the snorkel would go.
