Topic: 1991 Fuel system

I have a couple of questions,

1)   On a 1991 Jeep YJ 2.5L , I removed the fuel lines to go onto another Jeep and on the drivers side frame rail close to the fuel tank there is what looks like a fuel pump, is that correct? And if so does anyone have a part number?

2)   Also is the caracole canister on the fire wall necessary or can a person bypass that stuff without causing the engine to run poorly?

That thing that looks like a fuel pump would be the fuel filter. The charcoal canister is part of your emissions system, I would leave it alone.

If it were an external fuel pump it would be easy to identify as it would have wires connected to it,

And if you see wires leading to your fuel filter, don't start the jeep

Yes I suppose I deserved that I should have thought before I asked! 

Also what size is the rubber fuel line that goes from the fuel thank to the FUEL FILTER? I know it is bigger than the other rubber fuel lines that are 5/16.

Also I am planning on using only half of the metal fuel lines and rubber fuel line for the rest, does anyone see a problem with using rubber as apposed to metal?

Cool, adapting Toyota axles to the Jeep, using a doubler from DD Machine, D300 with split controls.... all you need now and brake controllers.

Have you thought of using the FZJ front diff with their electric locker? The rear would be offset to the passenger side, but if you get matching front rear axles, it would come as a full floater, beefy shafts, rear discs, and I'd doubt you could torque it with the doubler.

Why go that route over the infamous Danas?
