car wash?

ive never tried but i was wondering if anyone else brings there wrangler to the car wash?
i have soft top and half doors, i jsut dont want water to come in

I go to the self car washes. You can control the power of the spray. I've had minimal water get inside just around the seam of the doors (but I get that when it rains also) I have a soft top & half doors also.

i got the softtop and half doors and i take em through the wash-shouldnt be an issue-if ur top is in decent condition ya might get a few drops in here and there but not much else.

Well, it's not recommended to take a soft-top though an automated car wash.  That's a good way to get the windows scratched up.  Self-service with the pressure hose wouldn't be an issue unless you're washing under the hood.  You don't wnat to spray the electrical too much.

That happened to me one time when I pressure washed.  Hosed the engine and ended up having to leave the Jeep overnight at the place to dry before I could start it again (Doh!)

you have to watch you can crack the ignition rotor doing that and then you will be leaving it to go to the parts store,  and why are we worried about tops?  am i the only one standing in the topless jeep at the car wash,  washing out the interior with the pressure hose?

The Automated rollers will leave you bruised and battered.  THe hot wax doesn't feel to good either.

ive taken it through 3X since ive gotten it-sure it beats on the top a bit but i dont think its harmed it much. i need a new top anyway but even with all that it isnt leaking or  anything.

But I'm a detailer by profression (At least when work comes my way...), I've never let any of my vehicles go near one of those swirl o matics  :pirate:

I run no doors or top(bikini only) may to sept. cant wait for it to warm up so I can spray out the inside. I do concrete for a living and all the dust  has killed other cars.  when I bought my jeep I threw out carpets pulled plugs and every couple weeks just spray the sucker out at the local self serve car wash in and out. However I stay clear of opening hood and spraying in there and just dont directley spray dash. I always leave it running with the heat a blazing then go for a ride to dry her off...

I have soft doors and a soft top and they don't line up very well with each other at the door seams (you can see day light in some spots, and my interior washes are the puddles behind the front seats after a good rain fall) so I would never run mine through an automatic car wash, I always go through the wand wash. I agree that certain automatic ones wouldn't be good for the top/windows if it isn't a "touchless" wash. Plus, I don't think I would even fit into most of the automatic ones, too high.

I use the touchless all winter when the hardtop is on, power washer at home the rest of the year.

In the mont or two I have owned it I have nere gotten a chance to wash it. The rain takes care of it for me.  :lol:You could almost say Im GREEN like that! ;)
